Kate Fisher is a Service Design and Technology Leader for Government. Most recently, she has been identifying improvements to the New York Medicaid enrollment experience, piloting Direct File with IRS, leading a cohort on AI ethics at Stanford, leading CX efforts with the White House, and promoting human-centered government with 18F and Lab at OPM.

I create impact by

Designing and delivering service touchpoints
Strengthening feedback loops for continuous improvement
Translating tech policy and government constraints into service design
Engaging stakeholders and the public in shared decision-making
Building government capacity in service delivery, digital design, and agile procurement
Piloting and scaling design teams

What’s important to me

Design teams with the authority to do good work
Feedback loops between the public, government teams, and front-line staff
Designing with, not for
Caring for and maintaining systems over time

When I’m not working, you can find me doing other things.

Outside of work, I’m usually exploring a new neighborhood, putting my history tour guide license to use, editing wikipedia pages, or reading a good historical/science fiction. Most of all, I try to spend quality time with my family.
